Senior Project Manager, PMO
Location – 100% remote but must support Pacific Time hours
Duration: Target start is mid-late March for 12 months, and possibility to extend
Daily Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30 pm PDT (or similar, with some flexibility)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Compensation Range - $60-72/hr W2
Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.

General Summary:
This position is responsible for the management of assigned projects under the direction of the Department of Technology Project Management Office. As part of the Project Management Office, provides leadership and mentoring to other DoTS Project Managers, advocating for the use of Project Management best practices. Assists the PMO Manager in identifying, implementing and maintaining Project Management standards and processes to support DoTS IT Project Management efforts.
Responsibilities include:
• Manages DoTS technology projects (either directly or via functional specific Project Managers within DoTS) to develop new and/or enhance existing information technology systems; facilitates coordination and communication with related business efforts to ensure full acceptance and efficacy of implemented solutions; plans and directs all project activities from project concept through implementation; develops and manages to project schedules, resource plans, scope, budget, risk and communication plans with appropriate input from business and technical staff.
• Manages the portfolio of DoTS technology projects to maintain visibility into status and risks and helping recommend course corrections. Facilitates IT-specific Governance processes. Provides input into department strategies, priorities and work plan based on current and expected district needs and priorities. Leads or participates in project feasibility efforts, including technology and business area research, requirements facilitation, cost benefit analysis and development of RFIs. Leads and/or participates in project requirements analysis and documentation efforts, including identification and documentation of business rules, functional and technical requirements and JAD activities.
• Is the primary Project Manager/Interface on DoTS subprojects and tasks of Org-Wide projects, with the Project Management Office and Project Management Staff. Coordinates activities within the DoTS to assure task accomplishment to meet cost, schedule and performance objectives for Org-Wide initiatives.
• Develops, documents, implements and communicates best practices in IT Project Management methodologies, project processes and procedures, project portfolio management and related support tools. Provides training and mentoring in Project Management fundamentals and advises other technology Project Managers on the practical use of methodology to deliver project initiatives.
• Ensures that Project and Product deliverables follow internal established standards. Facilitates agreement on deliverable format and content with appropriate stakeholders where no standards exist. Ensures that new standards, processes and templates are documented and made available for future projects. Coordinates project planning activities with Enterprise Architect and appropriate Technical Team Functional and/or Project Leads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Years of Relevant Experience:
• Seven or more years of professional project management experience.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or other related area; or years of project management experience may be substituted for the educational requirement with a PBA certification.
• Required Certification: PMP Certification by PMI.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Industry standards and best practices for Project Management methodology, including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK).
